This photograph of all of the Gould veterans originally appeared in the NAACP's magazine, Crisis, in December 1917. All of the sons are veterans of World War I except WBG, Jr., a Spanish -American War veteran. William B. Gould, already in his 80s wearing his GAR uniform is seen here seated.
