By Professor William B. Gould IV

"Items of Interest from Wilmington, N.C.," The Anglo-African, Nov. 4, 1865.
In this submission, Oley describes Wilmington, N.C. after the war. This may be the only return trip William B. Gould made to his hometown after his discharge from the Navy. He appears to have thought momentarily of settling there but chose to remain in the North.
