A postcard sent from Dedham by WBG, then 73, to William B. Gould III, then 9, on July 17, 1911.
It says: ""Dear Willie, I guess you are having a good time with the Boys in Exeter do you have Ball games. Ernie and Margery were here today has it been hot up there. give my love to Mr and Mrs Jackson and Emma. do not eat green apples. they will make you sick. be a good boy and you may go again. from Grand Pa." The postcard is of the Dedham Boat Club houses on the Charles River, frequented by the author's parents both prior to and during their marriage.
